Camille Saint-Saëns: Carnival of Animals – interactive concert for children and young people (12+ years) – Conductor: Hari Zlodre, conductor
Throughout the school year in agreement with schools and during school holidays
For students of primary school subject classes (5th - 8th grades) and high school students, the Carnival of Animals as an interactive concert form will come to life in co-production with UMAS. The students gathered in the orchestra, under the baton of maestro Hari Zlodra, will present their instruments through the score of C. Saint-Saëns, and they will be helped by a narrator who will be embodied by an acting student. During the performance, the narrator will also animate the audience members and they will become active partners of the performance. Carnival of Animals - a humorous musical suite with its 14 short, imaginative, characterful and almost impressionistically colored movements is an excellent educational platform for introducing young generations to the phenomenon of music, reproduction, performers, orchestra, conductors, instruments and all the hidden and noble messages that this art carries in himself. I imagine it as a kind of dialogue with the audience (young people) in which, together with the orchestra and soloists, playing parts of "Carnival", with an explanation of how and why they were created, they would gradually bring this world of ours closer to theirs.
