Duo Tudor – Režić At this concert, he presents his performing and creative musical versatility in a new work, Loop. It is their first joint composition work, and it is an interdisciplinary project, which also includes video art, a film based on old videos recorded by Gordan Tudor's father, Mario Tudor, edited by a video artist Marios FournarisAt the same time, these old recordings are the first impetus for the creation of the work. Loop, which is experiencing its premiere on this occasion.
Loop, according to the author, "combines music and moving images, in a reflection on memory, identity and collective memory. The idea has been around for some time, and thanks to the Croatian House award we received last year, the project has finally come to life.
The starting point of the project is a rich collection of Super 8 mm film footage, which Gordan's father, Mario Tudor, has been creating for years. Among the hours of material are precious personal memories, but also footage of important social events in Split and Dalmatia from the second half of the 20th century. Some of those used in Ciclo Continuo are the recordings:
Greek Cypriot artist Marios Fournaris selected and processed part of the archive to create a 55-minute film divided into five narrative units. Each of them explores different aspects of the human experience: love, the relationship with nature, childhood, creation and destruction. The film deals with the emotional and psychological layers of memory and its impact on our identity.
Original music was created as a kind of soundtrack which is performed live, in dialogue with the film, and in addition to classical, draws inspiration from other musical genres, such as pop, prog-rock, electronic and traditional music.
Through the use of repeating motifs and loops, the music further emphasizes the cyclical nature of life and memory."
