Varaždin Chamber Orchestra & Marta Hut, soprano

Varaždin Chamber Orchestra with its thirtieth season, continues the centuries-old tradition of chamber and orchestral music in Varaždin. The central activity of the orchestra is a cycle of five premier subscription concerts in the concert hall of the Croatian National Theater in Varaždin, as well as regular participation in the Varaždin Baroque Evenings. The orchestra has a dozen concerts a year throughout Croatia, and tours in a number of European countries. The Varaždin Chamber Orchestra recorded three CDs with maestro Pavlo Dešpalje, who was an honorary member of the orchestra and the conductor and artistic director of the final concert of each season. The orchestra gives one concert as a prize to young musicians at competitions, and holds two concerts for the students of the Varaždin Music School every year. On the occasion of the tenth anniversary in 2004, the monograph "Varaždin Chamber Orchestra (1994-2004)" was published with a commemorative CD, and in 2014, along with the twentieth anniversary, the monograph "Varaždin Chamber Orchestra – Two Decades of Enthusiasm". Although it performs without a conductor, striving primarily for quality, the orchestra has collaborated with conductors - distinguished artists such as Milan Horvat, Kazusi Ono, Vjekoslav Šutej, Uroš Lajovic, Vladimir Kranjčević, Ivo Lipanović, Zoran Juranić, Ivo Repušić, Valentin Egel and others. Along with the orchestra, eminent instrumentalists and singers performed as soloists, such as Ruža Pospiš-Baldani, Dubravka Tomšič-Srebotnjak, Dunja Vejzović, Višnja Mažuran, Monika Leskovar, Renata Pokupić, Radovan Vlatković, David Geringas, Valter Dešpalj, Peter Soave, Ivana Lazar and others. . In addition to permanent concertmasters (Jože Haluza, Dunja Bontek, Ivana Penić-Defar), the orchestra often engages guest-concertmasters, such as L. Spierer, C. Mackintosh, T. Smirnova, A. Ivić, B. Martinić, M Korunić, L. Honda-Rosenberg and others. The orchestra is a prize winner of the Varaždin Baroque Evenings Ivan Lukacic i Jurica Murai, HDGU awards milka trnina, awards of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival Orlando, the "Judith" award of the Split summer, as well as Plaques of the city of Varaždin.

Soprano Marta Hut (nee Musap) was born in Zadar in 1990. In 2007, he participated in the Regional Singing Competition in Šibenik and won the 2nd prize. Just one year after that, she held her first major solo concert as a soloist in Faure's "Requiem" in Zadar on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the "Petar Zoranić" HPGD, accompanied by Pavel Mašić on the organ and conducted by Jurica Šoša. At the age of 18, he entered the Academy of Music in Zagreb and obtained his master's degree (cum laude) in the department of solo singing in the class of prof. Martine Gojčeta – Silić. In December 2010, he participated in the concerts of young opera singers "Hommage à Milka Trnina", HNK Zagreb. In 2011, she made her debut in the role of "Mercedes" as part of the student project "Carmen" at the Academy of Music (KDVL), which also received the Rector's Award. In April 2012, she performed as a soloist in the performance of "The Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross" by Josip Magdić (Mimara Museum, Zagreb). In March 2013, he played the role of one of the pages in Wagner's opera "Lohengrin" under the direction of Mo. Nikše Bareza at the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb, which was also performed in the "Cankarjev dom" concert hall in Ljubljana. In March 2014, she won the "Young Singer of the Year Competition" as part of the cycle "Molto Cantabile 2" (Mimara Museum; Concert Production Zagreb). In July 2015, she performed as one of the soloists at the opening of "Musical Evenings in St. Donat" with the Philharmonic Orchestra of North Bohemia under the direction of conductor Alfonso Scarano. She regularly performs in Zadar as a soloist accompanied by the Zadar Chamber Orchestra and conducted by Mo. Pavle Dešpalje. At those concerts, she had the honor of premiering Dešpal's string instrumentation of songs by B. Bersa and V. Lisinski. He has been living and enriching his concert practice in the Kingdom of the Netherlands for the last 5 years. So far, she has performed in Rotterdam, The Hague, Delft, Zwolle, Rijswijk, Breda. 2016 (Breda, The Netherlands) performed in the opera "Suor Angelica" as the main role holder in the direction of Michael Znaniecko. In the year 2016/17 she was a student of the "International Studio of Vocal Arts" in the class of professor James McCray. Until the beginning of 2021, he perfects his singing skills with prof. Ire Siff in Amsterdam. In February 2020, she performed as a soloist with the Zagreb Philharmonic under the direction of Mo. Ivo Lipanović in the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, and in July 2020 she performed as a soloist at the opening of the Musical Evenings in St. Donat under the direction of Mo. Ivan Repušić and with the accompaniment of the Symphony Orchestra of the Croatian Radio Television with a direct broadcast by HTV. Participated in seminars of world famous singers and pedagogues such as Roberta Alexander, Jard van Nes and others.
