"BRODOSPLIT" CITY CHOIR CONCERT

TRIBUTE JAKOV GOTOVAC

City Choir "Brodosplit" and Croatian Home on the occasion of St. Dujma presents their fellow citizens with a musical specialty - hommage Jakov Gotovac, one of the greatest Croatian composers of the 20th century, whose music bears the powerful characteristics of the local Dinaric folklore, just like Mediterranean singing imbued with sensibility.

Maestro Vlado Sunko, who has led the most award-winning Croatian amateur male choir "Brodosplit" for 35 years, has carefully chosen a repertoire that will convey the authenticity and diversity of Gotovč's rich oeuvre, as well as recognizable folk songs from Dalmatia such as "Omili mi u selo divojka" and " Good evening, role model" and the recognizable arias of Mila with the Final Choir from the opera "Mila Gojsalić" and "Himne slobodi", to revive some complex and rarely performed anthology works of Croatian music "Jadovanka za teletom" and "Koleda". In order for Gotovac's compositions to resonate in the Croatian Home in their full power, instrumentalists will join the interpretive vocal power of Brodosplitovac at the end of the concert, all under the baton of maestro Vlado Sunko. The instrumental ensemble consists of: clarinets: Ivana Bandalo, Igor Ivanović, Sandra Bedenik; bassoons: Tomislav Kurte, Krsto Petijević; double bass: Piero Malkoć and timpani: Boris Žuvela.

An evening made of notes and photos, overflowing with emotions and reminiscences, will be moderated by Herci Ganza.

Entry is free with a ticket that should be presented in good time at the office of the business secretary of the Croatian House Split (4th floor) from Wednesday, April 24 until the invitations run out, every working day from 9 a.m. to 15 p.m.
