The famous flamenco singer Sergio Gómez Delgado "El Colorao", born on February 2, 1985 in Granada, has earned an honorable place among the promising young flamenco artists of his city. Over the years, he has gained extensive knowledge of flamenco and critical acclaim, not only in Granada but throughout the world. With his innovative approach, he opened wide the doors to the flamenco community and established himself as a prominent young gifted singer on the flamenco scene. It belongs to a long tradition of a family from Granada that inherits flamenco, with musicians known as "Coloraos". Apart from him, there are other singers and guitarists, from his father to his brothers, as well as his uncle José Gómez "El Colorao". He is also associated with the distinguished Habichuela musical family, which includes musicians such as Pepe Habichuela, Juan Habichuela, Antonio Carmona and Tía Marina Habichuela.

Sergio Gómez "El Colorao" received many recognitions and awards for his achievements in various competitions. He received an award at the ONCE festival and in 2007 and 2008 he won three first prizes at the prestigious Festival del Cante de las Minas competition in the Soleá, Vidalita and Farruca categories.

Sergio Gómez has been involved in flamenco since he was young. He took his first steps in the world of this genre with the help of his father Antonio Gómez "El Colorao", who passed on his passion for this art as well as the fundamentals of traditional flamenco singing. At the age of six, he gave his first performance at a school performance accompanied by his brother who played the guitar. From that moment he started singing with his father in numerous flamenco clubs and festivals throughout Andalusia. When he was ten years old, he founded the group "Oyana" with other future flamenco stars. Working with this group, Gómez began to form his own flamenco style that helped him innovate some previously forgotten songs. During the three years of its existence, the group shared the stage with artists such as Remedios Amaya, Raimundo Amador, La Susi, Rebeca, Ecos del Rocío, etc. After the breakup of the group, he returned to his roots, which he enriched with fresh ideas. In 2000, he took part in the play "Trasnoches Flamencos" in Madrid with artists such as Rafael Amargo, the group Losada and Antonio "El Colorao". He also played a tribute to the great Paco de Lucia with the "Flamenco" band. In 2012, Gómez presented his own play "20 para el Flamenco" at the II Festival de las Cuevas. Also, this musician often participates in the design and work of theater and ballet performances.

During this period of activity, he continued his education, which led him to study music. However, he left his studies to devote himself fully to his artistic career and began performing independently, singing authentic flamenco combined with a modern touch and influences from current musical movements. He also gained experience in performing authentic flamenco by playing with numerous dancers such as Juan Ramírez, Manolete, La Moneta, Adrián Sánchez, Jara Heredia, Ana Cali, Eva Esquivel and others. These collaborations enabled him to tour in France, the Czech Republic, England, Panama and Russia. Among his numerous performances, we can highlight the Casa Patas tablao in Madrid, at the Cardamomo Club in Madrid and the Bienal de Sevilla in the “Mas Jóvenes más Flamenco” section.

In addition to his authentic flamenco, Sergio Gómez “El Colorao” is a versatile musician who likes to enrich his vocabulary with spices that emerge from various musical fields. For example, he collaborated on the recordings of the albums “Entre amigos” and “Borrachito” by pianist Sergio Pamies, which introduced him to jazz circles and took him to the Jazz Festival on the Coast and the Bilbao Jazz Festival. He was involved in the project “El 5 a las 5” made up of musicians of classical jazz , Argentine tango, pop and flamenco united to enhance the musical imaginary based on the figure of the Spanish poet Federico García Lorca and his works. He also participated in the play “Ziryab Caló” by Suhail Serghini, combining flamenco with Arabic music.

Renowned artists such as Pepe Habichuela, Antonio Canales, Jerónimo Maya, Manuel Parrilla, Antonio Serrano and Dani Méndez took part in the recording of his debut album "Como Mi Sangre", released in 2016. The presentation of the album was held in the full hall of the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos in Madrid. In 2021, he started recording his second album "Graná", which was released in February 2022. He promoted it with shows all over Spain, including Madrid, Seville and Barcelona. The basic idea for the music was to bring back the essence and original flamenco styles, especially those that developed in the Granada area, and to ensure that they are not lost. He went a step further by reconnecting flamenco and Arabic music and other music that is suitable for recalling the origin and wealth of flamenco through the history of songs, and in these songs he also recalled distinguished artists from Granada such as Manuel Osuna, Carmelilla la del Monte , Carmen Amaya, Juanillos el Gitano, Cobitos, Niño de Jun, Pepe Albaicín and others.

In addition to playing with his own groups, Sergio Gómez "El Colorao" is also engaged in pedagogical work and works as a singing teacher at the Carmen de las Cuevas flamenco school in Granada.
