On the eve of the great jubilee - the 55th anniversary of the founding of the Brodosplit City Choir - the people of Split will be presented with a festive promotion of the documentary film "Dalmatia, Infused with History" , dedicated to one of the longest-running and most successful Croatian male choirs and ensembles.

For more than half a century, the Brodosplit song has accompanied the musical and cultural life of Split and Dalmatia. From humble beginnings in the Split shipyard in 1972, through numerous domestic and international successes, to the status of two-time absolute world choir champion, the story of this choir is at the same time a story about the people, the city, the Dalmatian musical heritage and the generations that have woven their lives into song.

The documentary film "Dalmatia, steeped in history" preserves precisely these traces - memories, people, events, music and moments that shaped Brodosplit and left an indelible mark on the cultural history of Split and Croatia.

A special place in this story belongs to two maestros who shaped his artistic destiny. Maestro Josip Veršić , who steered the shipyard choir from 1972 to 1988, laid the foundations on which his recognizable musical strength was built.

On these foundations, since 1988, maestro Vlado Sunko has built his creative and conducting vision , whose name has become inextricably linked to the identity, sound and greatest successes of Brodosplit. With his passion, distinctive creativity and pedagogical power, he has shaped generations of singers, enriched the Split choir scene and brought Brodosplit's musical expression to world stages and the highest recognition. For more than three and a half decades, Sunko has not only led the choir - he has shaped its artistic personality and left an indelible mark on its history.

The title of the film is inspired by the anthological poem by Ljubo Stipišić Delmata "Dalmatino, povišću pritrujena" , a work that over the decades has become one of the recognizable musical symbols of Dalmatia, and Brodosplit made it part of its own artistic story with its performances.

The ceremonial promotion at the Croatian National Theatre will be more than just a film presentation - it will be a meeting of generations, music, memories and emotions, a dedication to the people who created Brodosplit, and an announcement of the great anniversary that will follow in 2027.
