On Saturday, June 25, 2022, a concert was held at the Croatian House in Split Ivo Pogorelić. A not at all ordinary concert was the crown of a rich season that started on October 5, 2021. Few concert venues can boast a number of 150 realized events of which 82 concerts in the Festive Hall and 30 concerts in the newly opened Jakov Gotovac Music Hall. There were also 38 other cultural and social events with 32 live broadcasts. When the line is underlined, it means 13618 visitors and 13457 visitors on online broadcasts. At the same time, we must not forget that the covid restrictions on the number of visitors to cultural events were lifted only in April of this year. The first complete season at the Croatian Home is designed through five cycles: golden, heritage, contemporary music and jazz cycle, Split cycle and cycle+. The distinguished audience from Split gladly responded to the concerts with special passion and attention for the biggest stars. Therefore, when the acting director Marin Caporello at the concert of the string sextet of the Berlin Philharmonic on the eve of Split City Day and the celebration of St. Dujma announced that maestro Ivo Pogorelić will close the season with the concert, the packed hall enthusiastically accepted the information. To make things better, the concert had to be donor, namely for the artistic training of gifted students of the Josip Hatze School of Music. The legendary pianist, who is also a UNESCO goodwill ambassador, thus honored the entire city and all its musical appearances: from the youngest whose talents have yet to blossom, to the loyal audience that recognizes and enjoys top performers. Very soon, the sold-out hall was expanded with additional seats to allow as many people as possible to experience this top music event. For the first time, seats were added on the stage itself, so that the maestro was embraced and surrounded by an enchanted audience that rewarded him with a standing ovation. The program consisted exclusively of compositions Frédéric François Chopin, a Polish composer and pianist who is known for writing exclusively for one medium – the piano. His late works; Polonaise-fantasia in A flat major, op. 61, Sonata no. 3 in B minor, Op. 58, Fantasia in F minor, Op. 49, Lullaby in D major, Op. 57 and Barcarola in F-flat major, op. 60, at the insistence of the audience, the maestro expanded it with two additions: Prelude in C sharp minor, op. 45 and Nocturne in E major, op. 62 No. 2. This very program is on the latest album from the beginning of 2022, and it is the program that the maestro is performing on the stages of Europe and North America this concert season. Interpretations approaching the category of co-creation closed the concert season in the best way, in which, and not only because of this evening, we came close to some other standards of musical events. At the end of the evening, the maestro was presented special annual award "Ivo Tijardović" which is awarded for the best artistic achievement in the concert season of the Croatian House Split.
Finally, we would like to thank all our sponsors and patrons with whose support we managed to realize such a successful concert season: To the city of Split, To the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, the general sponsor to Erste Bank, golden media sponsor Free Dalmatia, the golden radio sponsor Radio Dalmatia, media sponsors Dalmatian portal i Dalmatia Today and program partners To the tourist association of the city of Split, Hotel Cornaro and Hotel Art.
