Croatian Home Split continued some of its acclaimed projects this year, and the ones intended for the youngest are particularly important. That's why during the Croatian Book Month, in cooperation with the Kugli&Kugli Art Organization, a fairytale picture book "Teta Operetta and the Magical World of Music" was created. With this, Teta Operetta, which was created for the Croatian House last season by mezzo-soprano Žana Marendić and shaped the beloved and praised play "Teta Operetta i Barba Klavalir", got a new outfit - this time a literary one. The text is written by the award-winning writer Magdalena Mrčela, and the beautiful illustrations are the work of the young and extremely talented Mihaela Prižmić, who graduated in botanical illustration at the University of Edinburgh.
The picture book follows the adventures of the girl Alba, who finds herself in the magical world of music through a series of unusual circumstances. Her faithful companions are Teta Operetta and Barba Klavalir, and on her way she will meet musicians, stage workers, costume designers, Papagena and Papagena, the Queen of the Night, even Mozart. The story of a little girl who observes the world around her with different eyes will turn into a real adventure with an important lesson about friendship, trust and love of art.
Promotion of the picture book "Teta Operetta and the Magical World of Music" will be held in the Croatian House on Monday (November 25) at 11 a.m. On this occasion, a literary meeting will be held for children of preschool and primary school age, but also for all lovers of fairy tales and music, regardless of age. The director of the Croatian Home will talk about the picture book Vanesa Kleva, author of the text Magdalena Mrčela, illustrator Mihaela Prižmić and teacher of Music Culture Bojana Vukičević. The meeting will be moderated by a writer Sara Tvrdic. A special dimension will be given to this musical-literary spectacle by the performance of Tete Operetta (Žana Marendić) and Barba Klavalira (Zoran Velić), who this time will return their musical time machine to the past and present their younger versions at the very beginning of their musical journey.
The promotion of the picture book will be followed by the announcement of the premiere performance of the new educational play "Tete Operetta's Musical Time Machine". The performance is intended for children of preschool and primary school age, and the main role will be played by a soprano Tea Požgaj, with the faithful accompaniment of young Barb Klavalir (stipe Gugić), but also many surprise guests. Their musical time machine will take the characters and the audience through the most famous opera masterpieces from ancient history to the hits of the 20th century. He signs the direction of the play Marta Tutiš, screenplay by Magdalena Mrčela, music preparation Hari Zlodre, and the selector of the musical content is Žana Marendić.
