
Petra Podhraški (Koprivnica, 2002) is a Croatian pianist and a final-year student of piano studies at the Zagreb Academy of Music in the class of Associate Professor Filip Fak. She began her musical education at the Fortunat Pintarić Art School in Koprivnica in the class of Professor Maja Petrović, and continued at the Varaždin Music School in the class of Professor Lee Šantek, advisor.
She has won numerous awards at international competitions in Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Italy and Austria. Among the most notable are the first prize and a special prize for the best performance of a composition written after 1900 at the international competition Ars Nova International Music Competition Trieste (2016), "Ira Švarc" award at the international EPTA competition for the best performance of JS Bach's preludes and fugues (2017), second prize at the competition Jurica Murai Memorial (2017), first prize at the international mixed competition Bistrica phonetic form (2019) and first prize at the international piano competition Ivan Rijavec (2020.).
She has improved her skills at numerous seminars and master classes with renowned pianists and pedagogues, including Konstantin Lifschitz, Andreas Frölich, István Lajkó, Đorđe Stanetti, Ruben Dalibaltayan, Nataša Veljković, Vasilij Šerbakov, János Balázs, Srđan Čaldarović and Nina Patarčec.
In 2018, she performed at the 48th Varaždin Baroque Evenings accompanied by the Varaždin Chamber Orchestra. She received the Rector's Award for participation in the opera Animal Farm Igor Kuljerić, in which she performed as a member of the Symphony Orchestra of the Academy of Music. On several occasions, she participated as a guest member of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra at evening concerts and in recordings of opera arias.
She gave her first solo recital at the age of fifteen, after which she regularly performs as a soloist and chamber musician. With the Amber trio, she participated in the 2022 Vinko Lesić Young Musicians Cycle and gave recitals with the same ensemble in Zagreb and Novi Marof. During 2024, she gave a series of chamber concerts in a duo with violinist Lorena Marković in Koprivnica, Varaždin, Zagreb and Pula.
Among recent solo successes, recitals in Varaždin and Đurđevac in September 2024 and performances of Johannes Brahms' Second Piano Concerto in B-flat major with piano accompaniment in Zagreb and Varaždin in 2023 stand out.
