Duration: 35-40 minutes

The musical and theatrical work "Peter Pan" in an attractive outfit that will tickle children's imagination brings a dance story about curiosity, courage, growing up and the power of true friendship. It is inspired by JM Barrie's novel and numerous adaptations that celebrate the childish courage and loyalty of Peter Pan, the little girl Wendy and her brothers, and the fairy Tinker Bell in their fight against the evil Captain Hook. The acclaimed choreographer Remus Dimache and his dance studio are building the story that Peter Pan, the eternal boy, deserves - from children to children. The beautiful music of Bruno Bjelinski will embody the famous sentences of the boy who does not want to grow up: "I am youth! I am joy!" The synergy of excellent music, literature, dance and art will achieve a dual purpose - to entertain and to educate.

The story of Peter Pan, a boy who decided never to grow up, is one of the most famous and beloved works of children's literature of all time. It was created by Scottish author James Matthew Barrie, who in 1904 presented his theatrical fairy tale for the first time about Peter, Wendy, John and Michael – three children who, guided by Peter's fearlessness and belief in the impossible, fly to the magical Neverland. There they meet the Fairy Zvončica, a group of Lost Boys, Indians led by Tiger Lily, but also the infamous Captain Kuku and his crocodile.

It is a world of endless play, freedom and imagination. It is a story of a space where time does not exist and childhood lasts forever. At its core, Barrie's story is about every child's dream: about flying above reality, about the need to preserve wonder and innocence in the adult world.

Academics Bruno Bjelinski (1909–1992) occupies a special place in the Croatian musical culture of the 20th century – as a composer of cheerfulness, humanity and inexhaustible imagination, and as a pedagogue: a professor of fugue and counterpoint who shared not only knowledge with his students, but also cordial conversations and encounters. His creative world is permeated with the joy of life, optimism and cheerfulness of the Mediterranean climate. Although he was also a doctor of law by education, he lived music as his primary language. In his works, one can recognize the harmony between intellect and emotion, order and play, thoughtfulness and spontaneity.

His compositional style is characterized by melodiousness, rhythmic playfulness, airy form and a distinctive orchestral color. His scores exude the warmth of the south, Mozart's lightness and humor, charm and refined lyricism, but also the power of counterpoint and the constructive clarity of form. Bjelinski remained faithful to music that does not enslave avant-garde experiments, but strives for sincerity, musicality and immediacy. His work always starts from the spirit of play and the joy of existence.

Ballet Peter Pan, completed in 1966 on the island of Silba, is one of his capital works for children, along with ballets Puss in Boots i Pinocchio and wash Maya the bee. Bjelinski, who has a fantastic oeuvre dedicated to children and young people, builds a Disney-esque musical world in this score, rich in rhythms, melodies and vivid contrasts. His music sings and dances, shimmers and soars, but never trivializes: beneath its lightness, one senses a profound artistic maturity and a perfect knowledge of the craft that is deeply rooted in the 20th century.

His Peter Pan It is not just a ballet for children, but also the composer's message to adults: despite all life's trials, one should maintain faith in beauty, play, and miracles, just like the boy who didn't want to grow up.

Acclaimed choreographer and ballet dancer Remus Dimache, a long-time soloist of the Ballet of the Croatian National Theatre Split, transfers his rich stage experience, gained through a series of roles in the classical and contemporary repertoire, into his pedagogical and choreographic work. As the founder Remus Dimache Dance Studio (originated from the Ballet Studio of the Croatian National Theatre Split), he dedicated himself to educating young dancers and creating original projects in which he combines the discipline of classical technique with the imagination of modern movement.

His students and collaborators win awards at international competitions, such as Dalmatian Dance TrophyIn his choreographic interpretation of Bjelinski Peter Pan, Dimache creates a performance that exudes lightness, humor and childlike playfulness. His distinctive style translates Barrie's fairy tale into a world of pure movement.
