Kajana Pačko, cello & Danijel Detoni, piano

The Split Musicians cycle brings a chamber event worthy of special attention: cellist Kajana Pačko returns to the stage of the Croatian House. Although Split audiences have encountered her less frequently on domestic stages in recent years, her career is firmly positioned at the top of the European classical music scene.

Kajana Pačko works in Germany, where she is a teacher at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy College in Leipzig. As a soloist and chamber musician, she regularly performs in leading European concert halls, including the Berlin Konzerthaus and the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, and collaborates with renowned orchestras such as the Gewandhausorchester.

He arrives in Split with his long-time chamber partner, pianist Daniel Detoni. The backbone of the program is Beethoven's sonatas for cello and piano, op. 102 no. 1 and op. 69, while the opening, brighter tone of the evening is brought by the Seven Variations in E-flat major, WoO 46.

The “Plus” in the program title refers to the 1968 work Assonance 1 , composed by Dubravko Detoni, one of the most important authors of Croatian contemporary music. This work brings a strong sonic contrast to Beethoven's classicist idiom and connects Viennese musical tradition and contemporary expression into a unique concert ensemble.

7 Variations for Cello and Piano in E-flat Major, WoO 46, on the Theme "Bei Männern, welche Liebe fühlen" from Mozart's Opera The magic flute
