Project Transbalkans Vasko Atanasovski brings a contemporary perspective on the Balkan musical landscape, where traditional rhythms and melodic patterns meet jazz, improvisation and a strong authorial style. The program is based on Atanasovski's compositions and arrangements, designed as open musical units in which the influences of different regional traditions, as well as the freedom of contemporary jazz expression, are clearly recognized.
The ensemble brings together prominent musicians of various profiles: Atanasovski, as one of the most recognizable Slovenian saxophonists and composers, leads the project with a strong authorial vision, while he is joined by musicians equally convincing in jazz, contemporary improvisation and traditional idioms. We can expect a concert of strong energy and expressiveness, in which the Balkan musical heritage is presented in a contemporary concert context.
